My travels
I really love travelling.
From my childhood summer holidays when our parents every year loaded our Škoda 120 and took us to explore some new part of our country (twice even foreign lands: Hungary and Yugoslavia).
From my wonderings first with the children tourist club, later with a group of wonderful mates, unique friend Dan Freitinger or even just on my own - we walked hundreds kilometres on our feet with everything we needed on our backs. We measured mountains, rivers, rocks and forests of our beautiful country.
Later I had opportunities to travel also abroad.
At another place I mention our stay in Kenya. My wife Lýdie and I spent there five months in 1997 and it was a life changing moment for both of us. We will never forget places called Nairobi, Ngong Hills, Meru, Mombasa, Taita Hills or Garissa; and off course also national parks Tsavo East and Massai Mara.
Since 1992 we are coming back to Britain. First our stays in Purley, Surrey (1992, 1997, 2002, 2006), later Scotland (since 2007 practically every year, some years even two times:-)
Another area where I love to come back again and again is Scandinavia: from my first stay at a youthcamp in Strandgarden, Sweeden (only foreigner among 120 Sweeds), through concert tour of the Kontryhel band, trips with youngsters in borrowed van, upto visiting our friends Svein, Kristian, Tormod and Einstein in Norway, and Liza and Peter in Denmark.
Also Balkans became my great love and inspiration. I have had opportunity to go through Romania several times (Iasi 2001; Retezat -> Transylvania -> Danube Delta -> Vama Veche -> Retezat 2009; Czech villages in Banat 2015), and also I can't forget my 2016 solitary trip: Orlová -> Split (Croatia) -> Bosnia -> Obrenovac and Beograd (Serbia) -> Sofia (Bulgaria) -> Cluj (Romania). Balkan countries are extremely beautiful and people there are very inspirative and freindly.
And let me mention also Germany and Poland, which are so close we don't take them as exotic interesting countries but we have good friends there and love to come back again and again.
