my pluses and minuses
Off course somebody else should and will judge my real strengths and weaknesses. I hope he will be merciful and forgiving.
In the meanwhile I can think about what I can do and what I can't. Take it as my personal estimates - I am far from pride.
- I can speak - I have practised for the last twenty years. I spoke for two people and also in front of thousands. I had opportunity to preach in Nairobi slum and talk in front of the prince Andrew. I like to play with words but I am always trying to be understandable even for outsiders.
- I am not very representative person. I feel more a clown than a gloomy church leader. I am much more comfortable in my worn tramping attire than with a suit and tie. I prefer small to big, towns and villages to cities, lost and forgotten to applaused.
- I am a musician. Amateur but with a great passion for music. I have written over 50 songs which I play from time to time when somebody asks for it. I started from first student bands at the grammar-school, had the experience of real work in a band Duha, left my heart in Kontryhel, wrote songs for Namoutěkutě, started Tensing Orová, worked hard for Keep Smiling Gospel Choir Orlová and enjoyed playing with P.O.T.R.K. I can't play properly any instrument but I love to play with everything what makes sounds. In the begining we were strictly acoustic, later need forced me to learn about sound engineering and recording. Music is part of my ministry calling.
- I am not very well organized. Keeping office has always been my nightmare. I love improvization.
- I can listen to people and empathize with their problems.
- I am very weak in solving problems. I have never been so self-confident or presumptuous to shout at people and to force them my views.
- I have thirty years experience of youthwork: creative workshops, camps, music, games, serious discussions... but I have also been working with elderly in a care home...
- I am traditionalist: I prefer matches to lighter and linen handkerchiefs to paper tissues.
- I have some experience with begining new things: Tensing Orlová, YMCA Orlová, Keep Smiling Gospel Choir Orlová, Youth information centre, Church Community centre Náruč at the housing estate...
- Unfortunately finishing things doesn't belong to my strengths. So, I need somebody in the team who perhaps doesn't have so many original ideas but is willing to take over the beginings and turn them into successful activity. And I am realy happy when I can step back from a working thing...
