Hans BRUTHANS
Leader of our scout group (well, scouting was illegal by that time in Czechoslovakia, so it was disguised as a pioneer tourist club; but all the activities, games or programs focused on the scout ideals of love towards the nature, respect towards other people, perseverance and survival in the wild and friendship. He taught us how to sleep in the forest, how to make fire safely and make tea from wild plants. He trained us to accept all challenges with a smile and make fun even when the conditions around are very hard (we used to sing when the rain was pouring on us walking kilometers from the camp, or joke when climbing the mount wet and freezing in meter deep snow). And the atmosphere around a camp fire when he produced his guitar and started singing is unforgettable.
